slides for d23"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, it&#8217;s been about 9 months since I last had the dragon box in my grubby little hands.\u00a0 I wish I&#8217;d taken more MF3D images in that time, but I guess it&#8217;s good that I at least got a few.\u00a0 All four of these were taken with my TL-120 on Provia 100F, using a tripod.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conundrum Between Trees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5948\" src=\"https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Conundrum-Between-Trees-300x138.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"138\" srcset=\"https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Conundrum-Between-Trees-300x138.jpg 300w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Conundrum-Between-Trees-150x69.jpg 150w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Conundrum-Between-Trees-768x352.jpg 768w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Conundrum-Between-Trees-800x367.jpg 800w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Conundrum-Between-Trees.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is the same sculpture that I included in my previous entry <a href=\"https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Stainless-Steel-Conundrum-SBS-sm-768x386.jpg\">(here).<\/a>\u00a0 I took it on a later visit, and from much further back, so that it is framed by two sturdy trees.\u00a0 I think I like this shot better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here, Have So<\/strong><strong>me Snips<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5945\" src=\"https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Here-Have-Some-Snips-300x139.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"139\" srcset=\"https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Here-Have-Some-Snips-300x139.jpg 300w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Here-Have-Some-Snips-150x69.jpg 150w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Here-Have-Some-Snips-768x355.jpg 768w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Here-Have-Some-Snips-800x370.jpg 800w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Here-Have-Some-Snips.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This sculpture is just a stone&#8217;s throw from the one above; but in an artistic sense they could hardly be farther apart.\u00a0 I still don&#8217;t know the name of either work, nor of the sculptors.\u00a0 I shot this very late in the day.\u00a0 The low light level was no problem, shooting from a tripod (2 sec. at f\/11, I think) but it did result in some lights in the background coming out distractingly bright.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dark Star Park (Arlington, Virginia)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5947\" src=\"https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Dark-Star-Park-II-300x138.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"138\" srcset=\"https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Dark-Star-Park-II-300x138.jpg 300w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Dark-Star-Park-II-150x69.jpg 150w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Dark-Star-Park-II-768x353.jpg 768w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Dark-Star-Park-II-800x367.jpg 800w, https:\/\/folio.solidsight.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Dark-Star-Park-II.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally, some sculpture that I know something about!\u00a0 This little park (larger than what I show here) is actually very close to the US Marine Corps War Memorial (the Iwo Jima sculpture).\u00a0 Another case of the abstract adjacent to the extremely realistic.<\/p>\n<p>This park &amp; all its sculptural elements were designed by Nancy Holt &amp; built in 1984, commissioned by Arlington County.\u00a0 The Wikipedia article about her goes into some depth about it.\u00a0 I definitely want to go back &amp;
