He was a week shy of 65. Born in Merced 2\/4\/50, he grew up in Modesto and attended Downey High School, where he made many friends. He also lived in Berkeley, where he attended UCB for an undergraduate degree in physical education. He lived in Sacramento with his family for 7 years, while obtaining a masters degree in psychology from Sacramento State, and teaching photography at Modesto Junior College. He spent his last 19 years in Santa Cruz County, working as a counselor for incarcerated youth in Morgan Hill.
